Alaska State FairAugust 23rd to September 3rd, 2012The Alaska State Fair is the home of record-setting giant vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley the Fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage. Each Fall, the Fair provides a setting for Alaska's last blast of summer, a showcase of Alaska's uniqueness and beauty. The Fair is held at the Palmer Fairgrounds about 40 miles north of Anchorage. Over 300,000 visitors show up to see lush flower gardens, record-setting giant vegetables and musical entertainment. Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley the Alaska State Fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage.. The Alaska State Fair weekdays, Noon-10 p.m. and weekends and Labor Day, 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Admission |
